The Council of Future Generations (CFG) is an initiative within the International Organization of Youth (IOY) designed to empower and integrate young voices, specifically individuals aged 14 to 19, into global conversations on youth engagement, leadership, impact, and UN policy engagement.

Objectives of the Council

Youth Representation & Policy Engagement

  • Provide specific quota in UN meetings, events, and high-level forums
  • Advise IOY on global youth perspectives and emerging trends
  • Provide recommendations on UN policy engagement and youth advocacy

Leadership Development & Skills Building

  • Prepare young members for leadership roles within IOY and beyond
  • Offer mentorship and training opportunities in policy, diplomacy, and youth engagement

Content Creation & Strategic Communication

  • Assist in designing youth-friendly content, campaigns, and messaging
  • Provide feedback on IOY's communication strategies to ensure relevance to younger demographics

Onboarding & Engagement

  • Create a structured pathway for new young members to become active participants in IOY
  • Organize orientations and peer-learning sessions

Project Development & Execution

  • Initiate and contribute to projects that align with IOY's global youth initiatives
  • Track and measure the impact of youth-led initiatives within the Council
